Rob's hidden talent

Rob has revealed a new gift that he has acquired.........winning things off of a local radio station.
On his commute home, Rob often uses his time wisely by winning these contests. I think our luck of winnings began last summer when Rob's friend at work won (from the radio) Gwen Stefani concert tickets. She very generously gave them to Rob and I. We very much enjoyed rocking out with Gwen in our excellent seats. (Do you believe it? Can you picture us?) Since moving to Utah, Rob's winnings have taken us to a Utah Grizzlies hockey game where Rob sang the National Anthem (OK just kidding!), Tran Siberian Orchestra Concert, Disney Princesses on Ice, and VIP tickets to a mini Ingrid Michaelson concert (sings "The Way I Am" which can be found on our play list).

Disney Princesses on Ice

Here we are riding the Trax to see the Princesses. Parker decided he would rather go to a friend's house than see the Princesses. Go figure! How do you like Rob's mustache? If you look closely, you can see his mustache extends upward towards his side burns. Are you curious to know what would prompt such an interesting look? That's going to have to be a completely different post!

Good ol' Tinkerbell!

Lexi was excited to dress up as Princess Aurora. Our sweet Dylan, of course, always looks like a little prince.

The ice show was very fun, complete with a fire breathing dragon! I think Parker would have even liked it if he had gone.

Ingrid Michaelson

Ingrid was doing a mini promotional concert at a Best Buy in Salt Lake before her real concert later that night. Any one could go for free. That's where the VIP tickets came in handy. The front section was roped off with chairs lined up inside. We got to sit front and center!

This is what Dylan was doing during the first half of the performance!

Ingrid with her side kick, Ally.

Lexi enjoyed dancing to the music. Ingrid commented on how it was fun seeing Lexi dance to her music.

At the end of the concert, we each got a free CD. Then we got to meet Ingrid and get our CDs signed.

Ingrid, Dylan, and Ally. Dylan apparently was not feelin' the love. Either that or he was still half way asleep!

Ingrid was awed by our beautiful mountains. She wore no makeup (or very little) and seemed down to earth and low key. Ingrid enjoyed watching all of the children in the audience during her performance. The kids had a great time. When Dylan hears "The Way I Am" on the radio, he still says, "Mom! We clapt to that song las night." Very cute!

Thanks for all of the free winnings Babe! Please, keep'em coming!

Wow Jamie, you look so good. You must share the new growth on Rob's face, I'm dying to know. And hey, it's your birthday today. Happy day, how does 29 feel again?
